Works great for the purpose it was purchased for. Just plug it in and scan. Would have gotten 5 stars but there was not manual or description in the box so it was a guessing game for the first try. But it worked! We just needed it to scan barcode numbers into an excel spreadsheet so we are not using it for anything too high tech.

I can only rate this as Good. The instructions did not account for two extra pieces that were in the baggy and were needed for assembly. And although it may appear obvious to put together, I am challenged by anything with nuts and bolts and pieces. Sorry, my gifts lay in other areas. I had my husband put it together for me. You also need to have teeny tiny tools with the right screwdriver attachment. In terms of usage it is a little clumsy at recognizing the barcode. Had to wait and retry on books to get it. Maybe it is me or the price point I purchased but I would want something a little better. I may buy something else later if this one continues to be a challenge. For now it is just "good".
